California FCE Equipment Guide

Other FCE vendors believe that specialized equipment is the most important part of an examination.  Many vendors that sell equipment are more than eager to have you purchase enormously expensive machinery that is impossible to justify economically.  The cash flow required to break even on $40,000-60,000 worth of FCE equipment is a burden on any facility.  Such equipment costs will require a minimum of five to ten years, just to break even.

We have taken a much different approach with the MediGraph FCE.  Our FCE requires very little specialized equipment, and can be performed in most cases with the equipment that you already own.  You will likely already own most of the materials listed below. In the case that you do not, most can be obtained quite inexpensively.

  • Universal Inclinometer / Goniometer
  • Treadmill
  • Pinch Testing Gauge
  • Timer / Stop Watch
  • Adjustable Height Shelving
  • Lifting Box / Milk Crate
  • Balance Beam (2 x 4 x 8)
  • Stairs
  • Push & Pull Cart or Sled
  • Assorted Weights ( 5lb, 10lb, 25lb, etc.)
  • Smooth Cloth / Sand Paper
  • Hot Pack / Cold Pack
  • Nuts, Flat Washers, Bolts
  • Small Round & Square Objects (golf ball, soft ball)
